Ladies and Gentlemen, mark your calendars – you probably don’t want to miss this. I intend on making this talk extra special with sprig of lemon on top.

Next month, on August 26th, I will be presenting at the Caparea.net user group. Now, caparea.net is a pretty well established user group – I personally have had a relationship with them for many years now. In fact, that user group was the place I delivered my first public speaking gig.

What makes the next month’s presentation special is that I have been working extra hard on preparing a .NET 3.5 + SharePoint 2007 courseware, which I am starting by offering in Norway, and a few other countries (stay tuned). And will most definitely offer that training in the United States as well (just figuring out a few things, again stay tuned).

What makes this unique is that it appeals both to SharePoint developers – who need a greased path into applying .NET 3.5 into SharePoint. Applying .NET 3.5 into SharePoint is a game changer. In a lot of ways, the thin development model finally gives you easier code maintenance and deployment on SharePoint.

In this talk, I will assume a familiarity with ASP.NET 2.0, and build from there. Some knowledge of SharePoint helps. What I intend to present in this talk is

a)       The basics of WCF, and some not so basics.

b)       WCF applied to SharePoint, and what does it get you – what does it not get you.

c)       Plenty of code, literally very few slides, touching the following topics

a.        WCF

b.       CAML + LINQ

c.        Silverlight 2.0

d.       ASP.NET AJAX 3.5.

e.       Better deployment and maintainability using WSPs and all the above.

If you are a developer, you will love this talk.

Here are the details –

Sahil, your video training is too expansive, totally not affordable for developers that earning a penny, like me.

Look at Scot Hillier DVD (http://www.informit.com/store/product.aspx?isbn=0672329867), only $70 bucks.

Can you please scale down the price to make more sense?

I have a potential project that may actually benefit from that approach - WCF and Sharepoint - when will you publish this info in a manner that I could get it?
